About

Welcome!

We are fortunate to live in a time when there are so many storytelling opportunities available, where content creators are looking for good stories that capture the imaginations and hearts of viewers. But I know it’s sometimes hard for creators to find good stories, if those stories aren’t already on best-seller charts.

I created this blog to allow authors to post summaries of their books that are available for film/TV/dramatic rights acquisition. As a freelance copy and developmental editor (for a Big Five publisher), I see many wonderful books that, to me, have great cinematic potential. But I know they’re unlikely to grab attention from producers, directors, or film agents if they are not best-sellers. With this blog, I hope that some of these books will get some attention and possibly real interest. I myself sold film rights to one of my books (Fire Me! by Libby Malin to Fox) with the help of an indie producer. So, it’s possible.

DISCLAIMERS:

  • I do not represent the authors. (My own projects are represented by an L.A.-based entertainment lawyer.)
  • The authors who post here are responsible for the accuracy and veracity of the content of their posts and for listing the appropriate contacts for their works. Their works are copyrighted.
  • Authors are also responsible for securing adequate legal or literary representation if anyone expresses interest in their works. I do not represent or vouch for any person seeking to option or purchase rights as a result of seeing information on this blog.

AUTHORS: Once I post news of rights availability, I email a list of about 100 agents/producers, etc. with news of the posts.

If you’d like to post rights, please query me by emailing LibbyMalinSternberg (at) gmail (dot) com. You must own the film/TV/dramatic rights to your works in order for me to feature your work. Once you make contact with me, I’ll explain what kind of information I’d need in order to post your book’s film/TV rights’ availability.

Thanks!
